Thanks Families for Participating in the Junior Naturalists Club!

As the new(and first) Executive Director of TNS, I was delighted to meet the parents and siblings of our JNC members at the recent picnic that concluded the January to July 2012 session. What a pleasure to see the parents and children enjoying games and the pride on the faces of mothers and dads as kids picked up their awards for completing projects, doing work at home, submitting book reports and attendance.

Although I served on the Board of Directors of TNS for two years previous to being hired as a staff person, this is my first experience with the JNC program and it has thoroughly convinced me how marvelous our JNC program truly is.

I also want to again express deep appreciation to JIm and Shelly Green for providing the funding that helped TNS return this award winning program to the Lloyd A. Stage Nature Center.

Current studies show that children need to spend time outdoors exploring nature and the JNC program fully embraces that philosophy. As you know, the JNC is dedicated to giving children invaluable experiences in nature. We are committed to having fun while learning. JNC will continue to give your children the chance to explore nature while enjoying many other hands-on activities and crafts.
